History
North River Christian Academy is a ministry of Open Door Baptist Church. In the summer of 1981, the church established a daycare program for the children of working mothers. Each subsequent year a grade was added until they reached school age children. The school has programs for students beginning at the age of one and continuing through twelfth grade. The school has grown over the years to its current enrollment of two hundred and fifty students. In April of 1998, the school became accredited by ACSI; and since that time has also been recognized by the SACS accrediting agency. NRCA offers an excellent college-preparatory academic program in addition to Bible, computer, music, piano lessons, SGA, Beta Club, and Honor Society.

North River Christian Academy was formerly known as Open Door Christian School. As a result of the school's name change to North River Christian Academy this past summer, as well as the change of the school mascot, logo, and colors, many exciting opportunities have opened up for the school and our students. Much work obviously has to be done in order to make it all happen. This is truly a building year in many respects, and NRCA is excited about the possibilities that God has in store for the future. These challenges, along with the tough economic times, have brought many faculty, staff, parents, and students in our school family closer together. The struggles that come our way are what build in each of us the kind of character that God will use to make something great.
North River Christian Academy remains as a strong unifying force to the glory of God. The future looks promising for NRCA. The combination of committed parents, a visionary administrator, and a supportive Christian staff and faculty spells continued growth and expansion as the school strives to honor and glorify Jesus Christ in all they do.
