Bro. Keith has been the pastor at Open Door Baptist Church since June of 2006. His heart is that every student at our school not only comes to know Christ, but that they also embrace a Christ-centered, God-exalting lifestyle that would allow them to make Christ known to their world as they leave the halls of our campus.
Bro. Keith graduated from the University of Alabama in 1980 as a business education major. He was privileged to play on two of Alabama's National Championship football teams under the coaching of Bear Bryant. After serving as the state director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, he received his Master's of Divinity degree from New Orleans Theological Seminary. He has been in the ministry since 1985.
"Regardless of our student's vocations, we know that God's Word teaches that He calls us to go into the world and make disciples of all nations. We want to send out global Christians. My greatest desire is to equip our students with all that they will need to know how to walk with God on a daily basis, and how to share His gospel with their world through their professions. Through Christian education, I am privileged to join hands with you in this disciple-making process. Our mission is to change students in order that they may change their world."
Dan Habrial Administrator
Dan moved to Alabama with his family in the summer of 1994. He has a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Theology and a minor in Biblical Theology. He has eighteen years of teaching experience and nine years of administrative experience. He is an active member of Open Door Baptist Church where he is the Associate Pastor overseeing the Children’s Ministry and also teaches an adult Sunday School class. At an early age Mr. Habrial said he was called by God to work in full-time Christian ministry in any capacity where God gifted him. We are extremely blessed at North River Christian Academy to have such a Godly man leading the school ministry.
“I was blessed with Godly parents who also were teachers for 30 years in the public school system. I grew up in a home where both of my parents were not only gifted teachers who loved to share their educational knowledge but also their strong knowledge of God’s Word. I feel a very clear calling of God upon my life to work with the students of NRCA to produce Godly young people who will leave this place and make an impact for Christ in the world around them.”
Paula Habrial Assistant Administrator
Paula moved to Alabama with her husband and four children in the summer of 1994. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education. She has twenty-three years of teaching experience and four years of administrative experience. She holds a standard ACSI teaching certificate. She is an active member of Open Door Baptist Church where she is the church pianist and sings in the choir. She continues to teach Pre-Algebra and Algebra I to our middle school students. As a teenager she decided to go into full-time Christian service. God led her to attend a Bible college where she made the decision to serve the Lord in whatever way He desired for her life. After college, she married her high school sweetheart (Mr. Habrial) and they continue to serve the Lord together. We are very thankful to have Mrs. Habrial as a part of our NRCA staff and faculty.
“I was tremendously blessed to have Christian parents who were the best examples that anyone could ever hope for. I hope to be that same kind of example for the students at NRCA. I am thrilled to be able to use my God-given skills and abilities to impact the lives of young people for Jesus Christ.”
