College Tours
The North River Christian Academy College Bound Program for high school students includes various topics of instruction during each academic year, including college search, selection, and admission - scholarships/financial aid information and applications - career exploration - personal learning styles and qualities related to educational and career success, etc. One very important facet of the NRCA College Bound Program is yearly full-day visits to college and university campuses within the State of Alabama Beginning in the spring of their ninth grade year, students who qualify academically are taken yearly to a college or university campus after a visit at NRCA from a representative of the college or university which they will be visiting. During the four tours - the senior tour is in the fall - students will visit a major state university, a small state university, a private college campus, and a two year public college. In depth information about the institution and what it offers students is provided, as well as exposure to the campus environment that particular type of institution provides. Providing these opportunities gives NRCA students first hand exposure to the educational opportunities available to them, the types of college and university environments that exist and their unique characteristics, and rewards them for excelling in the classroom during the previous semester. College/University Tours are a highlight of the College Bound Program for all ninth through twelfth grade students at NRCA, and are eagerly anticipated at the beginning of each academic year!
