Why should I consider North River Christian Academy?
As a ministry of Open Door Baptist Church, we exist to bring honor and glory to God. We believe that the greatest benefit to any student is to begin and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The right relationship with Christ brings honor to God and immeasurable benefits to the student. It enables the student to have purpose, passion, and propriety in all academic and extra-curricular endeavors.

What kind of education will my child receive?
We are fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).  We are also a member of the Alabama Christian Education Association (ACEA) which is a Christian organization associated with our sports program.

What kind of environment will my child be placed in?
Your child will be placed under Christ-centered instruction provided by a caring faculty and staff.  Our faculty and staff promote character training in an environment of loving discipline.  Pertaining to your child's safety, our school campus has a safety door system complete with video security cameras monitored in the school office.

Will my child get individualized attention?
The average class teacher-student ratio is 1 to 12 allowing each child to receive personal attention.

Will my child receive preparation for college?
North River is a college preparatory school. A certified guidance counselor is available for all students.  Special attention is given to all 9th-12th grade students in preparing them for the ACT college entrance exam. Financial aid and scholarship workshops, college tours, one-on-one parent meetings, career planning, and college admissions guidance are provided to ensure that each graduate has a plan for their future.

 What extracurricular activities are available for my child?
Jr. & Sr. National Honor Society, Jr. & Sr. National Beta Club, Math Olympics, Spelling Bee, Art Fair, Beauty Walk, Talent Show, sports program, field trips, Spiritual Emphasis Week at the WILDS camp and numerous other activities.
